Under Glass
Under Glass is a series of sculptural assemblages exploring how context shapes our perceptions of nature. Inspired by the traditions of nineteenth-century natural history, I placed natural objects beneath Victorian-style glass domes to highlight the act of looking that lies at the heart of both art and science. Each dome bears an engraved label that offers a new way to consider the object within, drawing attention to an often overlooked quality or suggesting a broader association.
