Sentient (Night Seascapes)
The ocean is both beautiful and dangerous. Drawn to this duality, I began photographing waves at night, when the sea feels most mysterious and unknowable. Although the ocean itself remains unchanged after dark, our perception of it shifts. Photography, a medium of light, revealed only the white crash of breaking waves—the lone visible sign of the ocean in the darkness. In Sentient, these luminous forms suggest the immense power and unseen presence of the ocean at night.
