Wildfires

Wildfires are a natural part of many ecosystems in the American West. Today, however, rising temperatures and changing precipitation patterns associated with climate change are contributing to longer, more intense fire seasons. Extended periods of hot, dry weather leave forests and grasslands increasingly vulnerable to burning. This photographic series captures the drama, power, and intensity of wildfires in a changing American West.
